1. What does DSL stand for?
Digital Subscriber Line. DSL is a modem technology that
transforms ordinary phone lines (also known as "twisted
copper pairs") into high-speed digital lines for ultra-fast
Internet access. DSL also enables access to corporate networks
for telecommuters, as well as exciting new interactive multimedia
applications such as multiplayer gaming, video on demand
and video catalogs.
2.
How does CYBERXTREME DSL work?
CYBERXTREME DSL allows the normal voice telephony traffic
to be routed to the telephone network, and the Internet
traffic routed to CYBERXTREME DSL network simultaneously
through the same physical copper telephone cable. Hence
with CYBERXTREME DSL you can say ‘goodbye' to the traditional
dial-up. As long as your computer is switched on you are
on line, without any waiting time and busy tones.
3.
What are the main benefits of CYBERXTREME?
• Simultaneous Internet and voice capabilities over a single
telephone line
• Uninterrupted, high-speed Internet access that's always
on-line
• Cost-effective solution for home users
• Data Security that exceeds other technologies
• The affordable alternative to 128K till 256K Speed
4.
What is the difference between DSL and the ordinary cable
modem service?
Cable modems are generally for personal home use, while
DSL service spans both home users and it is also a business-class
solution. With cable modems, bandwidth is shared by users
connected to the same node which means that greater the
number of people connected, the slower your access becomes.
With DSL service, your link is connected directly to the
CO (Exchange) and from there to the Internet or local backbone
and so your bandwidth is not shared in the last mile. DSL
is thought to be the more secure of the two services.
5. What determines the level of
service available to the end-user?
DSL is a distance-sensitive telecommunications service:
increased distance from the central office (CO) means decreased
speeds. The closer you are to the CO, the more bandwidth
you can get.
6. Is CYBERXTREME better than Dial
up?
DSL is better than Dial up for following reasons:
a.
Speed - up to 10 times faster
b. Dedicated connection - no more dial-up configurations
c. Ease of installation - no more complex configurations
7. What will be the main use and
benefits of CYBERXTREME ?
With CYBERXTREME you will be able to play networked, multiplayer
games, enjoy high quality video conferencing as well as
browse the Internet at speeds that will definitely impress
you. Therefore the main market for CYBERXTREME is expected
to be residential users to small size companies, requiring
high speed data communications and individuals that are
after interactive video, such as video games, video catalogs
and TV series retrieval.
8. If I transmit data while on the phone,
will either connection be compromised?
NO. In general, a regular voice conversation takes less
than one per cent (1%) of a telephone line’s capacity. ADSL
has the technology to identify and use the remaining 99%,
in order to transmit and receive information. It does so
by dividing the copper telephone line into hundreds of segments,
each of which is capable of handling a telephone call. The
rest are then used to carry the internet traffic.
9. What is CYBERXTREME Volume Based
DSL?
Volume Based DSL service offers an allotted quota of bandwidth
that has been purchased. This provides a customer with the
freedom to purchase, at a very economical rate, as per requirement,
volume in terms of Giga Bytes that would be downloaded.
For example 256 Kbps of pipe with the download volume of
2 Giga Bytes. After the consumption of purchased volume
the account could be recharged in Mega Bytes again.
10. How does the billing cycle
works for CYBERXTREME?
CYBERXTREME is a Monthly Package and the billing for CYBERXTREME
starts from the 1st login made by the customer. If the customer
buys the package on the 16th of March 2006 and makes his
1st login on 23rd of March 2006 then the billing date for
the customer will be 23rd March 2006.
11. What if I consume the given
volume before the billing date?
If the customer consumes the given volume before the billing
date then the account status will become inactive and the
customer will have to buy additional volume so that account
can be used again for the remaining days of the month. If
the additional purchased volume is not consumed in the current
month then the remaining amount will be transferred to the
next month.
12. Are there any per-minute or
